What are the advantages of lithium batteries compared to lead-acid batteries.

With the technological development trend of energy storage batteries, lithium batteries have long been the current trend. Lead acid batteries will gradually be replaced, and cylindrical rechargeable batteries have become a research hotspot in the industry, vaguely becoming the ultimate technical direction of energy storage batteries. Therefore, in my opinion, lithium batteries are better, and the key advantages are as follows:
1. The energy density of lithium batteries can reach three times that of lead-acid batteries, indicating that lighter lithium batteries can store a large amount of electricity consumption,
2. The frequency of the lithium battery cycle system is several times higher than that of lead-acid batteries, and therefore its service life is much longer than that of lead-acid batteries.

3. Lithium batteries are less susceptible to environmental temperature hazards. Compared to lead-acid batteries, it is not easy to compromise the endurance of lithium electric vehicles during the winter season of minus multiple times.


Natural lithium batteries also have their drawbacks:
1. The price is relatively high, and lithium batteries are higher in terms of raw materials and manufacturing processes compared to lead-acid batteries. Moreover, lead-acid batteries have improved supply chain management and manufacturing processes, and their manufacturing costs are much lower than those of lithium batteries.
2. The safety factor is relatively low, and the charging and discharging principle of lead-acid batteries is that the electrolyte of lithium batteries undergoes chemical changes with positive and negative ions, so even in the event of an accident, it can only cause packaging. And lithium batteries are mainly organic compounds, belonging to flammable chemicals, so accidents are likely to cause fires and explosions.

Although lead-acid batteries are theoretically safer and more cost-effective than lithium batteries, with product upgrades, lithium batteries are actually very reliable, as long as manufacturing costs can be reduced.


The most classic problem with lead-acid batteries is the net weight and low relative density of rechargeable batteries. Taking the 12V100AH lead-acid battery as an example, its total weight is around 33KG, while the energy density of lead-acid batteries is generally only 40Wh/kg, which is heavy.


In terms of practicality, if we choose between "lead-acid batteries" and "lithium batteries", my answer is to choose lithium batteries for better use. The portability, endurance, and service life of lithium batteries have been explained above, which are better than lead-acid batteries. Due to the wide range of main uses of lithium batteries, the better the durability of rechargeable batteries, the less frequent battery replacement is required, which improves the applicability of lithium battery electric vehicles.
